Choosing & scoping a project
Picking a project that is ambitious enough for top marks but realistic to finish — with a real end user, clear requirements and room to demonstrate complex coding techniques.
Analysis & design
Interviewing your end user, writing measurable success criteria, and producing the design documentation (decomposition, algorithms, data models, UI plans) the mark scheme rewards.
Development
Regular code reviews as you build — structuring your program well, using appropriate data structures and OOP, and keeping the development log examiners want to see.
Testing & evaluation
Designing a proper test plan, evidencing iterative testing during development, and writing an evaluation that honestly measures the project against your success criteria.
Skeleton code & pre-release preparation
For AQA A-Level (7517), Paper 1 is an on-screen exam based on preliminary material and a skeleton program released in advance. We walk through the skeleton code line by line, practise the kinds of modifications examiners ask for, and work through questions from previous years so you sit the paper already knowing the program inside out.
Guidance, not ghost-writing
The NEA must be your own work — exam boards are strict about this, and so are we. We act as a mentor: reviewing, questioning and teaching, never writing it for you.
We use previous years' high-scoring projects as examples of what the mark scheme rewards, so you understand the standard you are aiming for.
Longer sessions are available for NEA work — many students book 90-minute or 2-hour slots during the development phase.
